Program: General Assembly of GKFP and QKE - May 11, 2023

This year's General Assembly Meeting of the Gütegemeinschaft Kunststoff-Fensterprofilsysteme and des Qualitätsverband Kunststofferzeugnisse will take place on 11 May 2023 in Halle a.d. Saale.

For the open lecture part in the morning, we invite all interested parties to participate either on site or online. Please register for this at our office (info@gkfp.de). The internal General Assembly Meeting will follow in the afternoon. Please find all details in the invitation flyer.

The motto of the meeting is: "Staying open to new things", resulting from the fact that our innovative sector - equally as industry, trade and craft - has to cope with new challenges all the time, caused by geopolitical developments and their impact on supply chains or by the sustainability focus on resource-efficient buildings.

The presentations in the public part are focused on these problems and shall give impulses for solutions and recommendations for action:

1. Thomas Drinkuth, Head of the Repräsentanz Transparente Gebäudehülle (Berlin), advocates for framework conditions for buildings (...) in which we can live climate-friendly, healthy, comfortable and affordable (...). With his lecture "Energetic minimum standards for existing buildings" we pursue the approach to see plastic windows in the context of the building envelope and thus to open new perspectives.

2. Dr. Karl Waldkirch, Managing Director of the Asia Success Company, advises companies active in the Asian market. He studied Oriental Studies and Economics in Heidelberg and Shanghai. Thanks to his many years of experience on the Asian continent, he is a valued source of background knowledge and connections that we Europeans are not always aware of. We will learn more about this in his presentation "The Geopolitical Situation in Asia - Business as Usual or Cause for a Rethink".

3 Florian Riedl is Director Business Development at APK AG (Merseburg). The company recycles plastics and has caused a sensation with its in-house Newcycling® technology. He will introduce us to this process, which may also be of interest for PVC recycling, in his presentation "High-quality plastic recyclates using APK Newcycling Technology" - an alternative to chemical recycling.

From 13:00 to 15:30 the internal - non-public - part of the General Assembly Meeting will take place. In addition to the usual regularities, the Gütegemeinschaft and Qualitätsverband will deal with structural improvements. Furthermore, it is planned to talk about the implementation of the REACH PVC restriction, which we expect to happen.

We look forward to welcoming you on 11 May in Halle (Saale).
