About VEKA AG*

Success with responsibility and commitment

Since the company was founded in 1969, VEKA has developed from a small regional business into the world market leader for PVC-U profile systems for windows and doors. Today, the international group of companies has 49 locations including 23 production plants on 4 continents. In 2023, 6,700 employees worldwide generated an annual turnover of 1.5 billion euros. In Sendenhorst alone, the headquarters of the group of companies, 1,500 people are employed.

The success of the company, which is still family-run, is based on uncompromising quality standards that encompass products as well as all company divisions and services. In addition to profile systems for windows, doors and roller shutters as well as PVC-U sheet systems, the Group's portfolio also includes innovative surface finishing technologies and digital window solutions. As a family-owned company, VEKA pursues future-friendly development with a focus on sustainability.

Future-friendly - comprehensive sustainability with VEKA

As sustainability at VEKA is defined over the entire life cycle of a window profile, great importance is attached to conserving resources right from the production of the window profiles. All production steps are designed to minimise the use of energy, water and materials.  For example, electricity from renewable sources and surface water from the company's own biotope are used. Every year, over 100,000 cubic metres of surface water is collected, biologically treated and fed back into the production cooling circuit.

As an industry pioneer, VEKA Umwelttechnik GmbH has been setting standards in the recycling of old windows since 1993: In Europe's most modern recycling plant in Thuringia and at sites in France and the UK, it produces almost 100 % pure PVC from old PVC windows and profile sections. The recycled PVC can be used to produce new window profiles without any loss of quality. At VEKA, the overall proportion of recycled material is currently just under 30% for the entire profile range. To ensure that the windows made from this material can also be recycled again at the end of their useful life, all VEKA profile systems are developed in accordance with the "Design for Recycling" guideline. This closed material cycle minimises CO₂ emissions and gives the PVC-U window an extremely good ecological footprint. The excellent insulating properties of windows made from VEKA quality profiles also contribute to this.
