DIN EN 17508:2021 published and DIN EN 17410:2021 confirmed by European member states.

DIN EN 17508:2021

In the new standard "Plastics – Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) profiles for the fabrication of windows and doors – Terminology of PVC based materials", terms important for our industry are now uniformly defined. For example, the abbreviation rPVC is introduced for recycled PVC-U or PVC-U recyclate. In the medium term, this term is to replace the split into ERM_a/_b RM_a used in EN 12608-1.

DIN EN 17410

EN 17410 "Plastics – Controlled loop recycling of PVC-U profiles from windows and doors" has passed the Formal Vote and has been confirmed by the European member states. Thus, nothing stands in the way of the publication of this set of standards. As one of the first industries in the building products sector, we have succeeded, together with the product standard for windows and doors (EN 14351) and the profile standard (EN 12608), in mapping the process for the production of PVC window systems in the cycle through the standard.
