Bonded glazing constructions
This page contains information about vinyl window systems with bonded glazing which have been certified acc. RAL-GZ 716/1, section III, part A. Before certification the following aspects had been tested and verified 1) performance of the adhesive system 2) compatibility of the used components: vinyl profile, adhesive system, seals and if applicable Isolierglas Randverbund and 3) the usability of sample windows in terms of tightness and long livability.
The Quality and Test Regulations RAL-GZ 716/1, Section III, Part A, were revisedand are in a new version before the final draft. Following the decisions taken by the relevant working group and the quality committee of inspection certificates and GKFP must be performed in succession, the requests for certification under Section III, Part A, immediately after the new final draft. The current issue of the RAL-GZ 716/1, Section III, Part A, can be ontained from the office of the GKFP.

Remark concerning the marking of "RAL-windows":
The window systems as mentioned above have proven their fitness for purpose in a type test (to be compared to a “initial type test” acc. EN). The registered combination of profile, adhesive system, double glazing system and window system manual confirms to RAL-GZ 716/1, section III, part A and may be advertised as “RAL-vinyl window system” along with the following symbol.

The system house will present the “RAL-GKFP-system” to a licensed window manufacturer. When a window manufacturer follows the rules in the system manual, as defined by the system house, it can be assumed that windows being manufactured for the end user will show the same physical properties as the tested sample windows. By the certification as mentioned above no test and control has been done at the window manufacturer. For a window manufacturer to sell a “RAL-window” to the end consumer the window manufacturer will have to undergo the relevant testing and certification.
